Wool-o-Wool

Rajasthan produces maximum wool in the country, contributing 28.56 per cent to the national output in 2010-11. However, the production of wool has declined from 16,464 MT in 1991-92 to 12,278 in 2010-11. One of the reasons for this is reduction in grazing land as the area under cultivation expanded and forests became out of bound.

India gets its woollens from Rajasthan, 28.56% last year.
