HC allows Centre to withdraw appeal on Godhra panel
The UPA government had appealed against an earlier order terming as illegal the Justice U C Banerjee Commission appointed by the Centre to probe the Godhra train burning incident. The Gujarat High Court had, in October 2006, discarded the findings and termed the probe "unconstitutional, illegal and null and void.
